Greenhow Tartan  Stocking

Made in England or Scotland about 1815, and now in the costume collection at Colonial Williamsburg, the cape would have made its wearer stand out like a cheery fashion plate on a snowy day. Imagine Lizzy Bennet charming a reluctant Mr. Darcy in such a splendid cape!
